sCULTURE: OUR SCULPTURE PARK IS EVERYBODY’S FAVORITE AT ART MARKET BUDAPEST
Public sculpture enjoys a special status in the world of art, as it is a genre whose significance goes far beyond its mere artistic value. We often don’t even notice it, but artworks displayed in public spaces radically transform their surroundings or even the entire landscape of a settlement, often becoming a defining component of the image of a city or country. These artworks, especially public sculptures, are a primary means of building relationships between the public and art. Art Market Budapest has therefore given this art form a prominent role for years.
sCULTURE, our fair’s public sculpture exhibition will once again feature around 30 works by contemporary artists, a wealth that is unique in Central Europe, in October 2026. Under the particularly suitable conditions provided by MTK Sportpark, the venue of Art Market Budapest, the works displayed in the free-to-visit public park surrounding the exhibition hall are complemented by sculptures and installations placed within the exhibition space.
The sCULTURE program is provided by our partner, EDGE Communications, an art agency with decades of experience and extensive references in the field of public sculpture. Over the past few years, EDGE has presented the works of more than fifty sculptors, including world-renowned artists such as Bernar Venet and Magdalena Abakanowicz, to the public in Budapest by installing individual sculptures and organizing public group exhibitions.
