LIFE OF MARIELLA MEHR – CONTEMPORARY THEATRE
Mariella Mehr was a Yenish writer in Switzerland. The Yenis are considered to be the third largest Roma minority in Europe. The group suffered great losses as victims of biological genocide between 1926 and 1975: the Swiss Yenis now number 35,000 and only 10 percent continue to lead a nomadic lifestyle. Based on M. Mehr’s The Stone Age and Messages from Exile, adapted and directed by Katalin Lábán, translated by István Dévény, and performed by Magdi Rácz.
